  3. Judy's TenKey is an award-winning program that will make your calculations 
  4. easier and more reliable.  If you use the default Windows calculator, you'll
  5. find that Judy's TenKey gives you many advantages (see below).  If you're 
  6. still using an old-fashioned desktop calculator, you'll love the integration
  7. Judy's TenKey gives you with your other Windows applications.

  9. This file contains installation instructions, a brief description of program
  10. capabilities, contact information, and version history.  This document is 
  11. also distributed in Windows Write format (read_me.wri); you may find it
  12. easier on the eyes.

  15. <<PROGRAM INSTALLATION>>

  17. REQUIREMENTS:  Version 4.0 of Judy's TenKey requires Windows version 3.1 
  18. or better (an exclusive Windows 95/NT version is available) and a 386 or
  19. better processor.  Including the tutorial demonstration, it uses 370K of
  20. disk space.

  22. INSTRUCTIONS:  To install Judy's TenKey, simply run its installation 
  23. program (install.exe) from within Windows.  This installation
  24. program prompts you for additional information, allows you to cancel the 
  25. installation, demonstrates its main features, and even offers to uninstall 
  26. the program if you decide not to keep it.

  28. REGISTRATION:  Judy's TenKey is provided as copyrighted software; the 
  29. registration fee is a modest $19.95.  Registered user receive the latest 
  30. version of the program, as well as a free copy of Judy's CountDown (TM), a 
  31. fun program that helps you track important dates.

  34. <<PROGRAM CAPABILITIES>>

  36. SCROLLING TAPE:  Records your calculations in a scrolling list which you can 
  37. annotate, save, print, and resize (a real help in keeping track of your 
  38. calculations).  You can also modify tape entries, causing the tape to 
  39. recalculate, or reuse previous entries in new calculations (saving typing 
  40. and reducing errors).

  42. SELECTABLE SYNTAX:  Judy's TenKey can process numbers like a 
  43. scientific calculator (RPN), an adding machine, or a normal calculator.  If 
  44. you are familiar with one and not another, you know how difficult and 
  45. frustrating it can be to try to switch.  Perfect for accountants, engineers, 
  46. and you.

  48. CUSTOMIZABLE DISPLAY:  You can decide how you want your TenKey 
  49. to look (selecting from tape, memory, statistics, functions, trigonometry, 
  50. finance, and number pad options), enabling you to optimize screen usage.  
  51. Any TenKey function can always be activated via the keyboard regardless of 
  52. the current display configuration.

  54. FINANCIAL CALCULATIONS:  Judy's TenKey calculates monthly 
  55. payments for most loans (e.g., cars, houses, etc.), expected investment 
  56. growth, necessary retirement savings, inflation adjustment, and more.  Its 
  57. easy-to-use dialogs lead you through complex calculations, and records
  58. all responses on the tape (which you can later save, modify, etc.).

  60. STATISTICS:  The scrolling tape provides a natural interface for 
  61. statistical calculations, including average value, sum, standard 
  62. deviation, and more.  Simply select the desired lines, then press the
  63. appropriate statistics button.

  65. KEEP ON TOP:  You can set Judy's TenKey to stay on top of all other 
  66. windows, so you quickly calculate something even when editing a document 
  67. full-screen.

  69. DECIMAL SETTING:  You can set Judy's TenKey to display the number of 
  70. decimal positions you prefer, ranging from 0 to "as needed".  In fact, you
  71. can configure Judy's TenKey to automatically insert the decimal point for 
  72. you (a real favorite with professional accountants).  If you frequently 
  73. deal with money, you might want to set the decimals to 2 (for cents) or 
  74. 0 (for dollars).

  76. INTELLIGENT COPY & PASTE:  You can copy tape entries to other 
  77. applications, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Notepad.  You can also 
  78. paste input from these applications.  If extraneous text and special formatting 
  79. are mixed in with your numbers, Judy's TenKey uses heuristic reasoning to 
  80. extract and interpret appropriate information.

  82. EXTRA TOUCHES:  Judy's TenKey remembers your favorite screen 
  83. position and displays itself there every time.  It also uses thousands 
  84. separators (e.g., "1,000,000" versus "1000000"), displays negative numbers in 
  85. red, and allows you to use the backspace key to edit results for further 
  86. calculation.  Judy's TenKey provides an extensive help system, an introductory
  87. demonstration, and a "Tip of the Day" feature.

  89. BETTER PERFORMANCE:  Judy's TenKey enables you to work faster and 
  90. more reliably.  Once you can see (and reuse!) the numbers in your 
  91. calculations, you will never return to the default Windows calculator.

  93. easily (try entering 10,000,000,000,000 in the Microsoft calculator, 
  94. or 10e-12...difficult, if not impossible).  We're so sure that you'll
